Introduction

In Poland there are different kinds of National Parks, all worth visiting. All of them are unique, characteristic for their fauna and flora and can offer a lot to any tourist. Each of them is a living organism struggling with everyday problems, environmental threats and potential danger.

Your task will be to work on one of the Parks listed above, assigned to you by the teacher, and develop a leaflet describing and recommending the selected Park.

Task

In pairs, you are going to design and print out a leaflet about one of the Parks. Your leaflet will be handed out to foreign students from the Commenius Exchange Programme coming to our school, who will be working on the National Parks and endangered species from their countries. Before you start writing, you will have to:

visit the suggested links and read the contents,
decide on the size and layout of the leaflet,
divide your pairwork, establish responsibilities.

Process

Your leaflet should have both factual and educational value, and should include the following elements:

Location and the size of the Park,
Nature values of the Park (fauna & flora, plant zones),
Species under protection,
Tourist infrastructure (how it is organized, tourist attractions and services, dangers connected with tourist traffic),
Problems of the Park (e.g. industry in the vicinity, road network expansion).

Conclusions

Your task was to design a leaflet about one of the Polish National Parks. Now you are experts on them! You are going to share your knowledge with the students from the Commenius Exchange Programme, who will definitely appreciate your effort. Thanks to your leaflet the students will be more familiar with the National Park in your neighborhood, their values and their problems, and may, in the future, want to visit it.
