Our stroll through the history and architectural wonders of Wrocław started at Ostrów Tumski. Our guide Bożena Rośkiewicz showed our guests the most beautiful corners of The Cathedral Island. From there we had a wonderful walk along a winding maze of cobblestoned lanes, church spires and vibrantly coloured buildings.
The visit to Wrocław University, one of the oldest collegiate-level institutions of higher education in Central Europe, was another attraction of the day

We felt privileged to be shown around its grand rooms and corridors by Profesor Adam Jezierski –Rector of the University. We visited Aula Leopoldinum and Marianum Oratory , where we could relish lavishly decorated beautiful Baroque interiors accompanied by the sounds of Taccata and Fugue D Minor performed specially for us by the Professor. We are impressed by his, talents and personal charm. The lesson of history, kindness, humbleness and respect for human beings we got from the Professor has been a precious educational experience. Together we climbed up the Mathematical Tower, a viewing terrace of the university building. The place, guarded by four statues symbolizing four science faculties: Law, Theology, Medicine and Philosophy, affords great panoramic views of the Old Town and the Odra River and is

The tour of Wrocław was for our Icelandic guests a great opportunity to see the most magical places of our city, feel its unique atmosphere and admire architectural masterpieces. On our way we could spot small made from bronze figures in different body postures. Our friends found out that the Old Town apart from humans is also inhabited by a big gnome population. There are around 300 of them are scattered around. They have become a symbol of freedom since the beginning of their settlement as a form of silent protest against the oppressive communist system.
We believe that the time spent with us in the heart of Wrocław will stay in the memories of our guests forever.

After lunch we continued our tour around Wrocław. Our destination was the ZOO. On our way we stopped in the Japanese Garden. It’s a wonderful place for relaxing walks and a breath of fresh air. The Garden bathed in the autumn colors looked spectacular. A visit to our ZOO was a real thrill. We had only two hours but we were in such a good shape that we were able to see a lot. Everyone couldn’t wait to see the animals. We started to tour the zoo from the big, wild cats. First, we saw a few lions which are also called kings of the jungle. The male lions had wonderful manes and roared loudly. We really liked that. Next we went to the Afrykarium. For the last two years zoo visitors have been able to visit this place. It’s an enjoyable experience There are many pools with different kinds of animals from Africa. We fell in love with the hippos instantly. Two of them were cuddling near one of the pools and another one was lazing in the sun. Everyone was impressed by their huge bodies and warmhearted looks. . When we left the Arykarium we saw monkeys and lemurs. They’re so smart! We gave the monkeys bananas. They seemed quite happy with them. When we had watched them eat and play we moved on and came across some bears. They were huge! Unfortunately, the zoo closed at 5pm so we had to leave.
I think this trip was great because we saw many animals and were able to learn interesting facts about them. You can’t visit the zoo or similar places every day even though I’d like to, because I love animals. This is the best place to go to when you need to unwind and clear your mind. Watching animals play is a relaxing experience.
