On Wednesday we took part in a dance workshop in the centre of creative activities called Kuźnia (The Forge). Supervised by a professional dance instructor, Icelandic and Polish groups participated in a dance performance.
They learnt complicated dance steps and figures. In the neighbouring Culinary Studio, we learnt the ropes of delicious, health cooking . The carefully chosen set of dishes was really impressive, and what’s really important, they were made by our students assisted by the chef of the studio. Both workshops are in line with our project theme- healthy life style.
Nutritious food and physical exercise are vital for the proper work of our bod y and mind. Dancing improves brain function on a variety of levels. Different types of complex body movements blend cerebral and cognitive thought processes with muscle memory and proprioception in the cerebellum. Through regular aerobic training that incorporates some type of dance at least once a week, anyone can maximize his or her brain function.
